Accuris today announced Change Impact Analysis, a new capability in Accuris Engineering Intelligence that helps engineering teams assess changes to standards and maintain a traceable record of the resulting impact, severity and engineering rationale. The capability is delivered through Engineering Workbench.
When standards are revised, engineering organizations must determine which requirements and programs are affected and what action is needed across design, testing, compliance, quality and maintenance. Many teams manage that work across spreadsheets and emailed files, making it difficult to confirm which assessment is current or trace a decision to the requirement that prompted it. Change Impact Analysis keeps the assessment in Engineering Workbench, links it to the changed requirement and publishes it as a shared Change Impact Report.
With Change Impact Analysis, engineering organizations can:
- Create a traceable decision record. Each assessment is version-stamped and linked to the requirement-level change that prompted it, preserving the engineering judgment behind the decision for audits and reviews.
- Reduce manual analysis. Engineers can assess the change alongside the source text instead of downloading editions, extracting changes and rebuilding spreadsheets for each revision.
- Keep disciplines aligned. A shared, current report gives design, test, quality and maintenance teams a common view of the change, its severity and the assessment behind it.
“The impact assessment that follows a standards change is some of the most consequential work an engineering organization does – and until now it lived in files no one could trace or trust,” said Duane Newman, Chief Product Officer at Accuris. “Change Impact Analysis turns that work into a durable record of engineering judgment, in the same platform teams already use for standards. These are decisions our customers can defend.”
Change Impact Analysis is available now as part of Engineering Intelligence Pro and Enterprise. Customers can add the capability without changing plans. For capability and pricing details, visit accuristech.com/engineering-workbench/change-impact-analysis.
