Hunt Military Communities (HMC) has announced the launch of a community-wide energy efficiency project at its Fort Sam Houston Family Housing community, bringing upgraded energy- and water-saving features to homes throughout the installation. The initiative is designed to enhance resident comfort, improve home performance, and reduce utility consumption while supporting HMC’s long-term sustainability goals.
The project, which is being implemented through the CPS Energy Sustainable Tomorrow Energy Plan (STEP), will include energy-efficient LED lighting, weatherstripping improvements, advanced power-saving technologies, and water conservation upgrades such as low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators. These enhancements are expected to lower utility usage, extend equipment life, and decrease maintenance needs across the community.
The upgrades represent the second phase of HMC’s broader sustainability strategy at Fort Sam Houston Family Housing, following completed air conditioning tune-ups that improved the efficiency of A/C units community-wide.
